UNC’s Butch Davis and Pitt’s Dave Wannstedt were assistants under Jimmy Johnson on three teams - the Cowboys of Dallas and Oklahoma State and the Miami Hurricanes. Just to make things more confusing, Wannstedt was also head coach of the Miami squad known as the Dolphins. Both teams lost at N.C. State during the regular season. (ACC Sports Journal)
