Alex Stepheson almost became a Bruin

The road Stepheson traveled from high school superstar to a starting forward for the USC Trojans has taken more twists and turns than a Tom Clancy novel. Stepheson was a highly touted recruit for Roy Williams and North Carolina and a high-profile transfer who appeared destined to play for the Bruins after leaving the Tar Heels at the end of his sophomore year to be closer to his ailing father.
