UNC beats N.C. State to snap losing skid

Last week, after his team had suffered its third straight loss, North Carolina coach Roy Williams said his players needed to dig deeper - to find a reserve of confidence and intensity they seemed to have lost after last season's national-title run. In the second half of an impressive 77-63 win over N.C. State on Tuesday that probably wasn't as close as the final score indicated, the Tar Heels found it. (Fayetteville Observer)
