Surprises, parity define ACC first half

Given the way it’s coached and the intensity with which it plays defense, Virginia won’t be going away anytime soon this season. Conversely, don’t look for UNC to fashion any kind of miraculous turnaround to save its season. The Tar Heels just aren’t talented or motivated enough to pull it off. And yet, even without them, there’s a possibility the ACC could wind up with as many as eight teams in the final field of 65.
