Tar Heels look to pick up the pieces

Despite national prominence the last few years, the Tar Heels won the ACC Tournament only in 2007 and 2008 under Williams. They failed to reach the ACC title game in 2005 and 2009, yet went on to win national titles in both those seasons. With that background, the Tar Heels realize that the tournament champion won’t necessarily come from the teams atop the regularseason perch. (Shelby Star)
