Carmichael, North Carolina State's Reynolds Coliseum and Maryland's Cole Field House were vintage ACC arenas that made way for bigger and allegedly better accommodations. After playing at the Dean Dome for the first time in the early 1990s, Florida State's Sam Cassell famously pronounced the fans a "wine-and-cheese" crowd.
