Anthony Chickillo withdraws from Alonso HS

Alonso defensive end Anthony Chickillo, projected as one of the bay area's top college recruits from the Class of 2011, has withdrawn from school, new Ravens coach Lee Meitzler told the Times this morning. To which school is he headed? "The address he gave looked like it was in the Plant district." For weeks, the prep football community has abounded with speculation Chickillo (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) would transfer to Plant. If he winds up there, the defending Class 5A state champions would have a defensive front featuring Chickillo and consensus five-star recruit James Wilder Jr. as its bookends.
