QB competition officially wide open at UNC

UNC football coach Butch Davis officially has a quarterback competition on his hands. It began Saturday at Kenan Stadium in a spring game nationally televised by ESPN. Though incumbent senior T.J. Yates came out of the intrasquad scrimmage holding onto the starting job that has been his for the past three seasons, redshirt freshman Bryn Renner gave him something to think about with an impressive performance.
