Tar Heels still heroes in home state

The struggles UNC faced on the basketball court this past season didn’t matter Wednesday night. UNC seniors such as Deon Thompson and Marcus Ginyard were welcomed as heroes by the East Duplin High School community. The seniors were embraced by area folks who took great joy in having ACC-caliber players in an area that’s as small as you can get in Eastern North Carolina. And that suited Ginyard just fine.
