Harrison Barnes now on track

He took off down the runway, toed the board and jumped 23 feet 3/4 inch on Tuesday. Basketball star Harrison Barnes is now competing for the Ames track team. Barnes has said track is his favorite sport. But he stayed away from it to develop into someone considered by many to be the nation’s top basketball player. He won the USA Today player of the year honors last month. (Des Moines Register)
