Dean Smith's friends worried about coach's memory problems
Posted Jul 11, 2010
Those close to former UNC basketball coach Dean Smith are concerned about his health. According to a story last week in the Fayetteville Observer, Smith's memory has been failing him. “That's really the painful thing to absorb when you're around him,” said Woody Durham, the radio voice of the Tar Heels since 1971. “Because his mind for so many years was like a steel trap. Now, to see him losing that capability is truly sad.”
