Peace at practice: Tar Heels hit field

The practice field provided a sense of peace for the North Carolina football team Friday afternoon despite scorching temperatures. The Tar Heels held their first practice and they said it provided a means of blocking out discussion of an NCAA investigation into team members. “It’s good to be back practicing football,” coach Butch Davis said afterward.
