One of the most noticeable things from observing the opening of practice was the terse welcome that Butch Davis brought to the players in stretching when they weren’t focused and failing to clap in unison. Davis brought them back three different times before they got it to his liking. This opening sequence from Davis was a mere prelude to a practice in which the Tar Heel coaches challenged the players.
