Merritt Mathias follows idol's footsteps to North Carolina

Merritt Mathias grew up admiring Catherine Reddick Whitehill as the U.S. Olympic star's soccer career blossomed from the Mountain Brook Angels club program to the U.S. Women's National Team. Mathias took another step down Whitehill's path by signing a scholarship with the University of North Carolina. The signing ceremony was held at Oak Mountain High School on Thursday.
