Vols try to get out of series with UNC

A home-and-home football series between North Carolina and Tennessee slated for 2011 and '12 appears to be canceled after the Vols requested to back out of the agreement, which was made five years ago. "Through verbal communication, I'm anticipating that that will be the case but we have not formally done that," Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton said. (Durham Herald-Sun)
