Storylines: Winning The Kicking Game

One of the things that Carolina head football coach Butch Davis emphasizes as an "extraordinarily valuable part of the game" is winning the `hidden yardage' in the kicking game. That is, kicking the ball farther than your opponent on punts and kickoffs, covering well, and returning kicks well so that the result is a net positive for the Tar Heels. (Tar Heel Blue)
