Marquise Williams leads Mallard Creek past Independence

Mallard Creek got one of the biggest wins in school history Friday night, beating Independence 26-6 on the Patriots' home field. It was only the third time Independence has lost at home since the 1999 season. "This feels great," said Mallard Creek quarterback Marquise Williams, who has committed to play for North Carolina. Williams threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for 141 yards and two more. (Charlotte Observer)
