Defending Champ Tar Heels Open With Shutout Win At #8 Texas A&M

Playing on the same field where it won the 2009 NCAA championship, the No. 1 UNC women's soccer team defeated No. 8 Texas A&M 3-0 Friday night before a crowd of 2,822 at the Aggie Soccer Stadium. Three UNC starting midfielders accounted for the UNC scoring and freshman Anna Sieloff became the first Tar Heel goalkeeper to start her career with a shutout since Jenni Branam in 1999.
