ACC Football Power Rankings, August 30

Anybody catch the stills of UNC chancellor Holden Thorp at last week’s press conference announcing a probe into academic irregularities in the Tar Heel football program? This potential mess has unwillingly turned the CEO of one of America’s great institutions into a combo of Holden Caulfield – the Catcher in the Muck – and Gil Thorp. In football terms, its impact on a seemingly sturdy Tar Heel defense remains uncertain. (ACC Sports Journal)
