LSU received its first commitment for the class of 2012 from Pompano Beach, Fla., wide receiver Avery Johnson Wednesday, who already has a connection to the program. Johnson is the younger brother of LSU junior cornerback Patrick Peterson. As a sophomore, Johnson helped Blanche-Ely High School to an 11-2 record with 55 receptions for 705 yards and seven touchdowns. Johnson said he also had offers from Florida, USC, North Carolina, Central Florida and Michigan. (New Orleans Times-Picayune)
