Tar Heels Add Defensive Tackle To 2008 Class

UNC has added 6-4, 295-pound defensive tackle Joseph Townsend to its 2008 football recruiting class, head coach Butch Davis announced Monday. Townsend graduated from San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian High School in 2005 and played one season at Los Altos Hills (Calif.) Foothill C.C. in 2006. He was recruited to Nebraska by Carolina assistant coach John Blake, but did not enroll and sat out all of 2007.
