Report: Ex-UNC player is involved


The NCAA investigation into UNC's football program could involve a former player, a published report indicated last night. ESPN reported on its website that Chris Hawkins, who played defensive back at North Carolina from the 2001 season through 2003 before being dismissed from the team by then-Coach John Bunting, is under scrutiny for his relationships with UNC players.
