Football recruiting has changed over the years

Tommy Thigpen is another former Division I football player with a new perspective on recruiting. Coming out of Potomac as an All-American linebacker in 1989, Thigpen played for UNC. Now Thigpen is a linebackers coach for the Tar Heels and was named one of the Top 25 recruiters in the country (No. 1 in the ACC) by Rivals.com last year. Even just nine years ago expectations for recruits were very different from today. (Potomac News Online)
