Duke thwarted North Carolina at every turn last night and took control of the ACC race by powering to an 89-78 win at the Smith Center. Duke, unleashing a barrage of 3-point shots and getting two key blocked shots by Lance Thomas and Gerald Henderson, led for the final 30:26 and snapped a three-game losing streak to North Carolina.
