Jacobs: Running Game Continues To Improve

Last season, through five games UNC's opponents averaged 14.6 points and 251.2 yards against one of the nation's strongest defensive units. Meanwhile the Heels averaged 18.6 points and 280.4 yards. This year the points yielded are up (21.2), but so are the points scored (25.6). The yards given up, and accumulated, also have risen proportionally. In other words, whatever edge UNC has lost on one side of the ball has been amply compensated for on the other. (Tar Heel Blue)
