UNC must find way to regain control

Considered in the best light, the revelations that UNC football players took gifts from sports agents and may have gotten inappropriate help from a university tutor show that neither the head football coach, the athletic director nor the chancellor had any idea that athletes were violating NCAA or university rules. And in the worst light, those revelations show that UNC officials ignored warning signs and failed to consider the wisdom of hiring an assistant coach who had worked for a sports agent.
