Bob Knight Resigns as Coach of Texas Tech

Bob Knight, who won more games than any men’s coach in major college basketball history, unexpectedly resigned from Texas Tech on Monday. Known as much for his controversies on and off the court as his sideline brilliance, Knight stepped down quietly. Texas Tech Athletic Director Gerald Myers said Knight informed him that he was resigning during a meeting Monday morning. (New York Times)
