Jay Whitmire, a 6-foot-7 tackle from T.C. Williams (Alexandria, Va.) High School, has committed to the University of Virginia, newsdayadvance.com reported on Tuesday. Whitmire, the 24th player to commit to Virginia, is ranked the 11th best player at his position in the Class of 2011 by CBS Sports/MaxPreps recruiting expert Tom Lemming, and the No. 79 player overall.
