Lucas: UNC Basketball Mailbag
UNC athletics was dealt a serious blow when the N.C. General Assembly repealed the tuition exemption that formerly counted out-of-state students as in-state students for the purposes of tuition. Paying the full out-of-state rate on all out-of-state athletes left Carolina holding a $3 million per year tab. There's a mistaken perception out there that UNC athletics can just look under the couch cushions and find $3 million. That's not the case. (
