Terps stun top-ranked Heels

The Maryland Terrapins finally pushed the Tar Heels off the peak of college basketball’s unbeaten teams Saturday by refusing to wilt under the pressure of an ear-splitting Smith Center crowd and a furious second-half rally by the home team. The result was an 82-80 upset that rendered the Smith Center quiet and left the Terps dancing in a joyous celebration at midcourt. (Fayetteville Observer)
