UNC details Butch Davis' contract
Posted Jan 12, 2008
UNC football coach Butch Davis' announced $291,000 raise, along with a one-year contract extension, appears to negate some of his financial incentive to stay at UNC for the long term. In the new deal, the university will pay Davis money that under the old deal would have only been paid to him after five years on the job. It amounts to more than half of the annual raise -- $157,000 per year. The deal was signed by Davis on Wednesday and released Friday.
