Ailing Heels fan fulfills his dream

Lonnie Rush has waited all his life to watch his favorite college basketball team play on its home court. When the day arrived Wednesday, the 75-year-old Candler resident was dressed for the occasion. Accompanied by his wife, Joyce, Rush settled in to watch No. 1 ranked North Carolina host UNC Asheville. Rush, who is fighting prostate cancer, can thank his daughter and the university’s generosity for the tickets. (Asheville Citizen-Times)
