Bruce Carter rises above knee injury

Labeled “an athletic marvel” by one draft publication, the 6-foot-2, 241-pound Bruce Carter was indeed projected as a first-rounder before he injured his knee against N.C. State on Nov. 20. Speed and explosiveness were Carter's calling cards, and some scouts considered him to be the finest pure athlete among draft prospects after he ran the 40 in 4.39 seconds and benched 440 pounds.
