UNC freshman Kent Emanuel to pitch first game of NCAA regional


UNC senior right-hander Patrick Johnson has the best record on the pitching staff this season, but when the Tar Heels kick off the NCAA Tournament against Maine at Boshamer Stadium on Friday (6 p.m.), he won't be on the mound. Instead the coaching staff announced Wednesday freshman Kent Emanuel would get the first start while Johnson would pitch the second game Saturday. (Durham Herald-Sun)
