Lucas: Pitching And Defense

Kent Emanuel had just thrown eight shutout innings against Maine, earning the victory in a 4-0 win that was Carolina's first NCAA Tournament shutout since the 2007 regional opener against Jacksonville. He'd struck out five and given up just seven hits, allowing only one Black Bears runner to reach third base. By the way, Emanuel is a freshman. (Tar Heel Blue)
