UNC commit Dillon Maples a probable pick in MLB draft

Maples' father, Tim, a former pitcher who reached Triple A in the Baltimore Orioles organization, said MLB teams are aware of a contract figure that will correlate with his son's signability. Maples turned 19 last month, so he would be eligible for the 2013 draft if he doesn't reach an agreement by the mid-August deadline and decides to play for the Tar Heels. (Fayetteville Observer)
