Strong arms lifted Vanderbilt to first College World Series


Other Vanderbilt teams have been talented enough to reach the College World Series. But they didn’t. This one did. And the Commodores made it look quite easy. In five NCAA Tournament games, they outscored their opponents 46-7. The Commodores leave today for Omaha and play the first game of the 2011 CWS at 2 p.m. EDT Saturday against North Carolina.
