2012 PF Rosco Allen receives UNC offer
Posted Jun 16, 2011
Inside Carolina reported Thursday that UNC has offered a scholarship to 2012 power forward Rosco Allen (6'9" 205, Bishop Gorman HS, Las Vegas, NV). Allen, ranked a consensus 4-star prospect by Rivals, Scout, and ESPN recruiting services, is a teammate of 5-star shooting guard Shabazz Muhammad, who also holds an offer from Roy Williams. However, the UNC-Muhammad relationship has cooled considerably as of late and the Tar Heels don't seem to be a serious contender at this point.
UNC currently has two commitments for the 2012 recruiting class in point guard Marcus Paige and small forward J.P. Tokoto. Others holding offers include shooting guard Marcus Smart and center Kaleb Tarczewski.
