Tar Heels win homecoming

North Carolina returned home last night for the first time in 29 days but spent a harrowing two hours fighting off a determined Nicholls State team. UNC got an 88-78 victory at the Smith Center to stay unbeaten, but struggled throughout the game. The outcome left Coach Roy Williams fuming and the players disappointed. (Winston-Salem Journal)
