New Orleans Hornets hire veteran assistant Dave Hanners

New Orleans Hornets Coach Monty Williams has hired Dave Hanners to join his staff as an assistant, the team announced Tuesday morning. Hanners replaces former Hornets assistant Michael Malone. Prior to his NBA career, Hanners spent 11 seasons on the University of North Carolina basketball staff under Hall of Fame coach Dean Smith and Bill Guthridge. (NOLA.com)
