Decision for Dillon Maples could go down to the wire

The MLB signing deadline for 2011 draft picks is midnight, and Dillon Maples' father, Tim, said Monday at noon that he doesn't have news to confirm one way or another regarding his son, a 14th-round selection of the Chicago Cubs. Various Internet reports have touched on rumors that Maples has agreed to a deal or is close to reaching one with the team. (Fayetteville Observer)
