Panthers sign former first-rounder Kentwan Balmer

The Carolina Panthers' signing of underachieving lineman Kentwan Balmer, one day after he was waived by the Seattle Seahawks, may be an indication that they're still not satisfied with their situation on the interior defensive line. Now comes Balmer, a former No. 1 draft pick of the 49ers in '08, who has failed to live up to expectations in three NFL seasons. (Sporting News)
