The political season is upon us, which means it's time for polls. But one out this week had a different slant, polling 505 likely voters in the Triangle about their favorite college teams. The pick? N.C. State, by 31% of those who responded. North Carolina followed with 23% and Duke with 17%. Among UNC fans, 58% said they were Democrats and only 25% said they were Republicans. Among N.C. State fans, 46% were Democrats and 36% were Republicans. Duke fans were 45% Democrats and 40% Republicans.
