For the 28 members of the 2011 UNC women's soccer team, the result was clearly important. For the Tar Heel coaching staff, the outcome would be an important boost in recruiting and prestige. So when Courtney Jones' brilliant right-footed strike from 22 yards out in the 96th minute of the match lifted Carolina past top-ranked Notre Dame last Friday at Fetzer Field, it was a satisfying end to an intense night on the pitch.
