Daughter Courtney has Brent Jones' competitive fire
Posted Sep 17, 2011
To Courtney Jones, "Uncle Steve" is Steve Young. As a preschooler, she used to play with Jerry Rice's kids and other 49ers' offspring during Pro Bowl trips to Hawaii. She remembers a vicious hit that knocked out her father, after which her mom told her he was "just sleeping for a little bit." Courtney was just 7 when Brent Jones retired, so she missed most of his 11-year 49ers career, which included three Super Bowl victories.
