UNC, State to play home basketball games tonight


Having survived a close shave in its season opener, North Carolina will play its home opener today in a landmark game at the Smith Center. Iona will be the opponent at 6 p.m. in North Carolina’s 300th game in the Smith Center since it opened for basketball on Jan. 18, 1986. North Carolina has a record of 251-48 in the Smith Center, a winning rate of 84 percent. (Winston-Salem Journal)
