UNC football legend Walt Pupa dies at 90

UNC football legend Walt Pupa died last week in Raleigh. Pupa was a fullback for the Tar Heels in the 1940s. Although his time at UNC was interrupted by military service in World War Two, he went on to win the Patterson Medal, which is awarded to UNC’s all-around best teammate and player, and was named a first team All-American player.
