Tar Heels soccer coach reaches special status
When North Carolina won the NCAA Tournament for men’s soccer, it put first-year coach Carlos Somoano in rare territory. Somoano became only the second coach in NCAA history to claim a national title in his first year. The other was Mike Freitag with Indiana in 2004. North Carolina junior Ben Speas was named the Most Valuable Offensive Player for the tournament. (
