UNC slips past Davidson

Roy Williams would have preferred a better performance from top-ranked North Carolina last night. But Williams wasn’t totally displeased with the way that the Tar Heels’ 72-68 season-opening victory over Davidson at Bobcats Arena unfolded. The Tar Heels found themselves in a tension-filled battle all the way to the final minute, and that suited Williams a lot better than easy exhibition wins over Shaw and Lenoir-Rhyne in the past 11 days.
