Hardin: Despite lapses, talent prevails for Tar Heels

The No. 1 team in the land ventured south Wednesday night to play its season opener and wash away the memory of how its season-ender went last spring. UNC scratched past Davidson 72-68 at Bobcats Arena, the second straight season Carolina has opened in Charlotte, where the ACC tournament will be held near the end of a year the Tar Heels have been waiting for since Georgetown crushed Carolina's national title hopes last March.
